Message from Mr. Farid Ahmad Tarar

Secretary Tourism, Archaeology and Museum Department, Punjab

Punjab is a culturally rich province with various archaeological and heritage sites and natural landscapes. We must bring this diversity to the forefront to speed up our economic and socio-cultural sectors. For this purpose, the Tourism Department is working with enthusiasm to work out the best outcome under available resources. All four wings of the Punjab Tourism Department are working in uniformity to provide better, sustainable and responsible Tourism. Recently, the launching of the Punjab Tourism Squad has been a milestone in our achievements as tourists are now provided with improved versions with all the facilitation and guidance. The ultimate target of the tourism department is to make Punjab an attractive tourist destination that is secure and instrumental in bringing in requisite socio-economic and sustainable development. We are committed to achieving this objective by developing state-of-the-art infrastructure with the collaboration of the private sector. Punjab is keenly looking forward to revamping its potential hidden in the tourism sector and playing its due role in the economy.
